As an educational and fun introduction to learning how to drive, this is the ideal way to get young people behind the wheel to experience real driving for themselves, and most importantly in a safe closed-off environment
Our driving students will learn many driving skills including:
- Starting and stopping the car engine
- Moving off – how the clutch and accelerator work together
- How the gears work
- How to turn left and right
- Understanding common road signs & markings
- How to react in challenging driving situations
Students will also take part in mock driver theory tests and reaction tests which are designed to show them how easily something unexpected can happen.
Who is this programme ideal for?
- Groups of secondary school students, especially transition years
- Sports clubs & teams
- Youth clubs
- Scouts & guides
- Also suitable for pupils with disabilities
The driving programme is run on a purpose-built open-air facility located on the grounds of Navan Adventure Centre beside Navan Racecourse. It is a large space (over 7 acres), and has a private road network with full sized junctions, signage, road markings and roundabouts. The program is safety-led, is completely hands on and all the hosts are very experienced instructors at Ireland’s most successful driving facility, Airport Driving School
Our on-site facilities include toilets, changing/locker rooms and a coffee shop with large canteen where students can enjoy lunch. For Further information please call 085 2366322, or explore the rest of this website to view the various facilities and the additional activities we can offer.
